How to use the Wordle helper
After each guess, copy the colours from your game:
- Green: type the letter in the box for its place. Leave the other boxes empty.
- Yellow: type the letter in the Yellow field. The answer has this letter, but not in that place.
- Grey: type the letter in the Grey field. The answer does not have this letter.
Press Show possible words. The list has every five-letter word that matches all three rules. Make your next guess, add the new colours, and search again. The list gets shorter after each guess.
Repeated letters
A guess with two of the same letter can show one green or yellow tile and one grey tile, for example the second E in SLEEP. That grey tile means the answer has the letter only once, not that the letter is missing. The helper does not remove a grey letter that you also entered as green or yellow, so you can type the colours as the game shows them.
Tips for fewer guesses
- Start with a word that has common letters and different vowels, such as CRANE, SLATE or AUDIO. One guess then tests many letters.
- When the list is long, pick a next guess that tests new letters, even if it cannot be the answer.
- When only a few words remain, look for the letters in which they differ, and choose a guess that splits them.
Which words does it show?
The helper uses the ENABLE word list, which has more five-letter words than Wordle accepts as answers. Some rare words in the list are never the daily answer, so common words are the better bet. Wordle is a trademark of its owners; this site has no connection with them.
